CSC held English classes on its premises under the auspices of the local community college. Since Joy Wright is a certified English teacher, she taught the classes. The classes were well attended, and some employees brought their wives. The classes were suspended when the daylight working hours increased and the employees asked to work longer days, but Joy anticipates restarting them later this fall. He worked his way through all aspects of the concrete industry as foreman, dispatcher, sales, and eventually as business owner.
